“These gimmicky draws would fall flat if the rest of the racer was not designed well; fortunately, this is a well-developed game, that plays at a fast pace and maintains excitement throughout.”

If you played any two-player series of Micro Machines matches, you remember this: When you’re tearing down a straightaway, your opponent just got stuck on an obstacle, and you are pulling ahead, and they finally get unstuck, and you are both at opposite edges of the screen, and you are so aggravatingly close to scoring, and they are accelerating, and you are pushing ahead, pushing it, hoping to score a point before you – inevitably, you fly off the edge or slam into something and your friend gets a point. What a rush.
