As much as we like to consider the Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN) as an infallible gaming authority, especially on retro topics, I think people sometimes forget that his 100+ videos were primarily for entertainment, with information content being a secondary consideration for many of them. When he says that seeing “LJN” on the cartridge means that the game is guaranteed to suck, thousands of bandwagon-jumping, retro-’cause-it’s-trendy gamers suddenly make a huge foundational assumption about several games; when, in reality, titles like Jaws are actually innovative, challenging, worthwhile, and just plain fun.

Soapbox aside, Punisher might be my favorite LJN title. Yes, some of their stuff sucks, but there are gems among them too, like this one. Definitely good for some masculine catharsis.
